Small Reliefs Sculpture Studio

Small Reliefs Studio of Green Bay is a working studio specializing in:

"Relief," in sculpture, according to Gardner,  means "..figures projecting from a background of which they are part. The degree of relief is designated high, or low(bas)." Bas-relief sculptures are generally made to be viewed from one side only, and are frequently used to embellish architecture and interiors.

Small Reliefs Sculpture Studio can provide designs and reliefs specifically tailored to any location. All designs are original, and can be transformed into plaster moldings, cement decorations, 3-D tile for interiors, or classic bronze relief sculpture. Versatility is the key to our success. Portraiture is a specialty of the studio, and Small Reliefs bronze portraits are included in many private and public collections.

VirginiaJanssen, owner and sculptor, has exhibited her bas-reliefs in both the United States and in Europe. She is a graduate of the School of Medallic Art at the Italian Mint in Rome, Italy, and worked for several years as sculptor/engraver at The Medalcraft Mint of Green Bay before going out on her own. Since opening Small Reliefs in 1996, she has produced over 100 original plaster models for private mints in several countries. She also creates a variety of  "art objects" to make your surroundings more beautiful, most of which can be purchased solely through the Small Reliefs Studio.
